Frequent on wet moorland

Flower diameter c 10-15 mm

Skye ID: Leaves rounded at end, at least as broad as long.

Other features: Leaves and flowering stems arise from creeping rootstock, no leaves on flower stems.  Spur much shorter than in Dog Violet and usually same colour as rest of flower.  Sepals not long-tapering as in Dog Violet.  Also produces cleistogamous flowers without petals or stamens.
