Rare on Skye. A woody climbing plant that scrambles over hedges or bushes. Flowers c 1 cm long (before petals turn back). Ripe fruit c 1 cm across. Skye ID: Flowers unmistakeable. Some of the leaves have large lobes or separate leaflets at base, as in pic below, which together with being a woody climber will ID the plant even if not in flower. Other features: Fruit is red when ripe, green at first as in pic on left. |
