Common in wet ground, including ditches, croftland and woods, also in upland flushes. Flower diameter c 3-5 cm. Skye ID: Flower like a buttercup but much larger, with 5-8 petals. Leaves heart-shaped, glossy, dark green, like those of Lesser Celandine but much larger and toothed. Other features: Ssp minor occurs in mountains, with rooting stems, fewer smaller flowers, and gaps between petals. |
