Rare, usually among heather.

Flower diameter c 7-12 mm

ID: Spikes of bell-shaped white or pinkish flowers with 5 white petals and 10 orange stamens.  Style straight, extending well beyond the mouth of the flower.  Spike not one-sided as in Toothed Wintergreen, but with flowers all around it.  (Note pictures currently on this page only show flower-buds and previous year's flower-spikes.  The protruding styles can be seen in the latter)

Other features: Leaves roundish, similar to those of Round-leaved Wintergreen.
