Fairly frequent on sandy shores. Flower diameter c 3.5 mm ID: Fruit 5-6 mm long, (in Common Knotgrass it is not more than 3.5 mm), and protruding from petals as in pic opp. (top, just right of centre) Other features: Annual. Totally prostrate, sprawling over the sand. Flowers pink or green with broad white margins, persisting to surround the dark brown nut. |
