Occasional on damp ground and ditches.

Leaves c 5-10 cm.  Flowers c 4 mm across when open (closed in these pics)

Skye ID: Greenish-white flowers. Leaves tapering to both ends, the upper almost unstalked but not clasping the stem  Flower spikes more than 3 times as long as broad, and interrupted so that some flowers or small groups of flowers are somewhat isolated from the rest (these are often in leaf-axils).  Other Skye Polygonum species have much denser and more compacted flower-spikes.

Other features: Petals covered with small yellow glands.  Does not have dark blotch on leaves like Persicaria.  Flower-spike nodding.
