Common Knotgrass |
|
Polygonum aviculare |
Taxonomic note: P aviculare aggregate includes 4 British species, the present one is P aviculare in the strict sense. The others do not occur on Skye, according to "The Botanist on Skye", but possibly P arenastrum was included in P aviculare in that book, as P arenastrum is found in every vice-county in the British Isles and it would be surprising if it were only on the Small Isles and not on Skye.
