Occasional in hills on damp grassy or stony ground. Flowers 3-4 mm long. Plant typically 15 cm high, smaller on high tops. Skye ID: Flowers in the top half of the spike and purple bulbils in the lower half, or in mountain-top plants bulbils only. Other features: Leaves narrow, tapering to base, their stalks not winged, arising from conspicuous joints with brown sheathing stipules. Stems unbranched. |
