Rare in gravelly or cultivated ground

Flowers c 6 mm long.

Skye ID: A twining plant with pointed inverted-heart-shaped leaves, similar to those of Convolvulus, but with sheathing stipules at base.  Flowers rather like Dock or Sorrel only larger, the only twining species with flowers like these in Skye, but beware the sometimes planted Russian Vine (Fallopia Baldschuanica) which differs in being woody and having showy white flowers when open.

Other features: Stems twine clockwise, those of Convolvulus twine anti-clockwise. ("Clockwise" means that if the support is vertical the growing tip grows in a clockwise direction as you look down on it)  Flowers pinkish-green, fruit black.
