Rare casual of waste and cultivated ground. Flower diameter c 3-7 cm Skye ID: Differs from the Common Poppy, P rhoeas, familiar in much of the UK but unrecorded from Skye, in having long fruit capsules that narrow downwards from the top rather than short rounded ones that bulge in the middle. Other features: Flowers do not usually have black centres like Common Poppy, but occasionally they do. |
