Uncommon in alkaline grassland or on rock ledges Height c 10-30 cm. Flower c 3-5 mm wide. Skye ID: All sepals and petals form a streaky greenish or brownish hood, apart from the lowest petal which forms a greenish or brownish hanging strap about 4-8 mm long, three-lobed at the tip. (Flowers in picture on left are past their best and lip has fallen off but distinctive hood remains) Other features: Flowers have very short spur, c 2 mm. Lower leaves broad, upper narrower, all leaves unspotted. |
