Common on damp stony ground anywhere from garden gravel paths to mountain screes. The only alien plant to have colonised alpine habitats. Flowers c 3-4 mm long. Fruit capsules c 2-4 cm. Skye ID: Flowers arising singly in axils of leaves of creeping rooting stem. Other features: Leaves almost circular. Stem completely ground-hugging. Flowers pale pink or white. |
