LH shoot c 13 mm wide

Only known from Scalpay in the Skye island group.  A moorland plant.

Leaves c 4-7 mm long

Skye ID: Leaves end in a stiff hairlike point, not a long flexuous one as in Stagshorn Clubmoss.  Branches constricted in places along their length, hence the plant's English name.

Other features: Has creeping and rooting stems with upright branches.  Leaves green, not glaucous; minutely toothed or untoothed.  Cones green when young, brown when mature, on the ends of the branches, unstalked.  No sporangia, gemmae or any other kind of growth in the leaf axils.
