Common on paths, rock faces, roadsides, on bare ground or short grass.

Flower c 15 mm long.

Skye ID: Calyx-teeth appressed to bud.  Angle between upper two sepal-teeth U-shaped.  See also Lotus pedunculatus

Other features: Often a ground-hugging plant, but can be more upright in rich sheltered ground.  Leaves have five leaflets but basal two are bent back so looking more like stipules.
