Rare, an annual weed of cultivated ground Flower c 6-7 mm long. Plant to 25 cm high. Skye ID: Flower shape as in pictures, upper lip broadly and shallowly hooded, lower lip much larger, with broad central lobe and smaller side lobes. Flower pale purple. Lower leaves heart-shaped, hardly longer than broad, stalked. Other features: A small plant, nowhere near the size of Hedge or Marsh Woundwort, more like a Speedwell in habit. Often branched at base. Flowers in whorls of about 3-6. Calyx almost as long as flowers. |
