Rare in cultivated or recently disturbed ground Flower c 12-15 mm long Skye ID: Stem with conspicuous dense spreading hairs. Stem swollen at the leaf-junctions. Flower can be purple, mauve, white or (rarely) yellow. Differs from G tetrahit mainly in the lowest lobe of the flower, which is clearly notched, somewhat convex, and has the dark markings reaching the edge, or else, as in pic on left, the lobe uniform in colour. Other features: Similar to G tetrahit but a smaller plant with shorter flowers. Can hybridise with G tetrahit. |
