Picture c 7.8 cm wide

Occasional in wet muddy ground or shallow water

Stems c 15-45 cm high.  Spikelets c 10-25 mm long, lemmas 3.5-5 mm long.  Anthers c 0.5-1 mm long

Skye ID: See G fluitans for general description of the genus.  If the lemmas are less than 5 mm long it can be taken as G declinata.  The lemmas are broader at the tips than in G fluitans, and somewhat toothed there, but not as neatly as the books make out.

Other features: Stems usually curving outwards and upwards.  Leaves broad and short with hooded tips, rather bluish-green.
