Frequent in peat bogs Flower diameter c 3-5 mm (no flower pics yet). Leaf-blade up to c 3 cm x 1 cm. Leaf-stalk up to c 10 cm. Flowering stem usually no more than 20 cm tall. Skye ID: Large specimens easily told from Oblong-leaved Sundew which has leaf blade c 1 cm long or less. Small specimens need more care, see Oblong-leaved Sundew for points of difference. Presence of seeds rules out Hybrid Sundew which is sterile. Other features: Leaves normally narrower than Oblong-leaved and Hybrid S, often strap-shaped. Leaves held well above the ground, generally closer to vertical than horizontal. |
