Rare in Skye, a weed of gardens and waste ground. Flower diameter c 5 mm, ripe capsules c 15 mm Skye ID: Capsules round with broad wings and a notch in the top, containing a style much shorter than the notch. In Smith's Pepperwort the style projects beyond the tip of the capsule. Other features: Hairless, annual or biennial. Lower leaves broad and usually distantly toothed, upper leaves narrower, clasping the stem. |
