Occasional in damp roadside grass etc, less common than B intermedia and perhaps sometimes confused with it. Flower diameter c 7-9 mm. Fruits c 15-30 mm long. ID: Barbarea genus easily told by very dark leaves, the basal ones having a large end lobe and several narrower side lobes, plus the dense elongated flowerhead with 4-petalled yellow flowers and long narrow upright fruit pods. See B intermedia for differences from that species. Other features: Flowers May to July. Leaves green all winter. |
