Occasional, clambering among bushes near habitations. Flower diameter c 6-9 cm Skye ID: Sepals completely concealed by two overlapping and much inflated bracts (pic on left). Flowers white, with or without pink stripes on the outside. Other features: Bracts are about as broad as long, unlike in C pulchra. Stamens thickly gland-hairy in the lower half and c 3-3.5 mm wide near the base. In C sepium they are 1-1.5 mm wide and have a few gland-hairs, in C pulchra they are intermediate. |
