Common in waste ground, gardens, edges of walls, paving cracks. Flowerhead diameter c 4-5 mm Skye ID: No ray-florets (occasionally has short recurved ones) Outer bracts of involucre black-tipped (see pic below). Involucre not or hardly broader at base than at top. Flowerheads unstalked at first, becoming stalked later. Other features: Fruit has pappus of white hairs to aid wind dispersal. |
