Common in grassland including on hills and upper levels of saltmarshes Flowerhead diameter c 10-35 mm, height typically 15-30 cm. Skye ID: Involucre narrows into stalk, not bell-shaped as in Catsear. Small scale-like bracts on stem, especially near top, but no stem-leaves (all leaves are from base) Other features: Florets said to be red below in books, but I've never found this in Skye specimens. Often branched. Leaves deeply lobed. |
