Rare on sandy shores

Flower diameter c 3-8 mm.  Leaves up to 10 cm long.

Skye ID: Flowers similar to Fat Hen, but leaves leathery, untoothed, wavy and floppy.  Told from Atriplex species by having stamens and styles in same flower.

Other features: Generally a larger-leaved and larger-flowered plant than Atriplex and Chenopodium species, and without their dull or mealy appearance.  Flowers in groups of c 1-4, each in the axil of a green bract which in the case of the lower flowers is conspicuous and longer than the flowers.
