Common on recently disturbed ground, especially in gardens, farmyards and rubbish heaps, also on shore near strandline. Flower diameter c 5-9 mm Skye ID: Single line of hairs down stem (visible in picture below where face-on in places) Other features: Often the dominant weed in vegetable gardens. 5 petals not longer than the 5 sepals and divided to their base so appearing to be 10. Leaves not long and narrow like Stitchworts, but pointed oval, and the lower ones stalked. |
