Rare arable weed. Flower diameter c 4-6 mm. Plant up to 50 cm high. Skye ID: Flowers blue, with five petals arising from a curved tube. Leaves bristly-hairy, hairs with bulbous bases, leaf-edges strongly wavy in an up-and-down way relative to the leaf surface. Other features: Annual. Flowers in cymes that progressively uncurl as with other members of the family such as Comfrey and Forgetmenots. Each flower followed by 4 rough-surfaced nutlets. |
